How to add a TS3 license key on a TS3 Linux server running via Synology NAS - jaydee89 - 12-11-2022

Tried drag & dropping the license key (.dat) file using WinSCP but a message pops up (Permission Denied). I can't CMOD the TS folder to a writable one as it wont allow me. I was able to login successfully via Putty using server query admin name+password but don't have a clue on what to do next. What command parameters do I need to put?

Is it possible to create a licensekay.dat file through vim and write the key there?

That should be pretty easy.

Either you get root rights like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKoHG-7w5q0 and then copy the file manually, or you simply import the license file into my package and run the installation again .

Open the spk file with 7zip and click on package.tgz then on package.tar The data of the TS3 server should be visible here. Copy the license file into it using drag & drop. Close the SPK file. Now you will be asked twice if you want to save. Confirm both with yes. Install the package manually as always. The file should then appear in the root of the server. Finished.

Hope it works
